Lemon Chicken Legs

This recipe was passed down from my Dad, who is a terrific cook BTW, who got this from my Grandpa who apparently was also held some major talent in the kitchen. ;)

Pack your thawed chicken legs into a 9x13 dish
pour over 1/2 cup of lemon juice (more if you like)
sprinkle with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and oregano

Cover and well you have two choices at this point...
To marinade, or bake
If you really like lemon, try marinating the chicken for a few hours.
If you are in a rush, just set the oven to 350 and bake for about an hour.
Another option is to grill these delicious little guys.
When I grill them, I like to let them marinate for at least 3 hours before they hit the grill.
Delicious!

Because they are baked fully covered, they are so tender,
and fall fall right off the bone.
If you wish to have a little more browning, just remove the foil and bake
until you get your desired browning.

I believe the original recipe had 1/4 cup melted butter mixed in with the lemon juice and all the seasonings mixed right in as well, but it really isn't necessary when baking.  When grilling though, the butter does help the chicken keep from sticking to the grill.

Enjoy!
